Nov 12, 2009--ITS and Research Computing hosted a seminar by Mathworks on Technical and Parallel Computing in the GCCIS auditorium. 75 students, staff, and faculty showed up to learn the basics and advanced uses of the Matlab software package, the most widely used commercial scientific package on campus. Mathworks staff from the Boston area gave live demos by connecting back to company servers. The seminar provided valuable feedback to RIT to better gauge interest in advanced computing techniques for scientific research.
